# Financial Services Protections

For all Universal Applications, Vendia supports compliance programs like SOC 2 and GDPR. But for users storing financial services data, additional compliance requirements like Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions may apply. Vendia supports OFAC-sanctioned country geo-blocking as part of its extended financial services offering. To have this option enabled for your account, please reach out to [Vendia Support](mailto:support@vendia.com). Once enabled for your account, Financial Services protections can be enabled on a per Uni basis and will apply to all Nodes within the Uni.

## Migrating Existing Projects

Financial Services Protections can be enabled per Uni through the Vendia UI. First, choose a Uni, navigate to Uni Settings, and select “Enable Financial Services”. Enabling this feature requires a restart of the Uni and all Nodes.

Clicking the button takes you to the following screen. Click “Enable & Restart Uni” to confirm.

> **Breaking Change:** Enabling Financial Services Protections will change the API URLs of each Node in the Uni. The previous API URLs will be disabled.

## New Projects

### Vendia UI

Financial Services Protections can be enabled when creating a new Uni through the Vendia UI. Under “Advanced settings - Optional” choose “Enable Financial Services Protections”.

### Vendia CLI

Optionally, the Vendia CLI can be used to create a new Uni with Financial Services Protections automatically enabled. Here is an example `registration.json` file, utilizing the type `FINANCIAL_SERVICES`
